Boxer murder: two charged

TWO men were charged with the murder of former British boxing champion James Oyebola today.
The heavyweight boxer, described as a "gentle giant" by his brother Kelly, was killed in a dispute over smoking at the Chateau 6 club in west London on July 23.
The 47-year-old was shot at close range in the head and leg after stepping in to help staff after they asked a group of men to put out their cigarettes.
He was taken to hospital but died four days later.
Rene McKoy, 19, and Kanyanta Mulenga, 22, will appear at West London Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Scotland Yard said.
McKoy of Clapham, South London, was first arrested on July 27 and Mulenga, of Putney, on July 31.Both were released on bail.
Police have said no further action will be taken against a man arrested at Gatwick Airport on August 1 in connection with the enquiry.
Since his death, the boxer's family have said they will establish a charity foundation in his name to help youngsters towards a brighter future.
